Different but Equal

What does it mean to be “different” without being “less”?

We live in a world full of animals—some we welcome into our homes, others we use for food, science, or entertainment. We rarely stop to think about how we decide which animals deserve affection and which are treated as commodities. But those decisions are shaped by deep cultural habits, and they often go unquestioned.

Such questions aren’t about assigning blame. They’re about becoming more aware—of the systems we’ve inherited, the beliefs we carry, and the possibilities for something better. When we challenge the idea that some lives simply matter more than others, we open up room for compassion, justice, and meaningful change.

“We are all equal in the fact that we are all different. We are all the same in the fact that we will never be the same. We are united by the reality that all colours and all cultures are distinct & individual. We are harmonious in the reality that we are all held to this earth by the same gravity. We don’t share blood, but we share the air that keeps us alive. “
